Josephine Does the Best Friend Tag

I know I have been teasing everyone with various glorious tid-bits from my Hawaii work-cation. But the wait will soon be over! Pulling together a great post and Video as we speak!

But to tide you over: check out my first Youtube Video!!
(very soft-core, quintessential, excuse for a Youtube Video, but alas!).
I'm really excited about rolling this summer project out (finally!) and would love love love your support in this! (Maybe try liking it, but only if you actually like it!! Or Subscribing, but ONLY if you want to!!)

I'll try to keep them short and sweet, and the written blog posts you love will always be here.. ...but now you get on screen giggles, eye rolling, scoffing
and snorts as opposed to only metaphorical ones!

Enjoy!!!

(P.s. Shoutout to Annie for doing this with me. You the real OG)

Sketch

As a PR (which is what I'm studying to become at university), it is typical of our practice to take clients out to lavishly expensive and trendy restaurants, to shmooze them (with extra ooze) so they will want to hear about our product or accept collaborating with us etc.

Lets be frank, you are more likely to hop into bed with a young man if he took you to a restaurant than an OFFICE MEETING ROOM.
How un-sexy is that? How do the corporate people do it?

Us ladies in fashion PR, just like Samantha from Sex and the City and Edina in Absolutely Fabulous, have built our industry around doing business.. in style.
That is a glass of wine in one hand, and a contract in the other.

One of the hottest hubs for shmoozers and shmoozee's is Sketch.
A Mayfair based, 2 Michelin Star, impossible-to-get-a-booking restaurant.
In pink.

Fashionably fittingly as well: Sketch used to be Christian Dior's Atelier...

So my two good friends and fellow PR students; Sache and Dina, graciously took on the burden of a little homework, and dined there with me.

Below is our day!

It was very dimly lit (probably to help the PR's get their clients to not-read-but-sign a contact handing over their soul. You know. The usual.)

This kind of strange artwork covered the walls!

A Very Lemonade Beyonce-esque Chair: the girls and I decided.

Mixing old and new.. (don't know who that chick is smiling though.)

There was an open door to intermix the the outdoors and indoors theme further.

Sache got given a napkin with the waiters number on it and was deciding whether to call or not.

Kidding they all came with it. Cute idea though, right?

ONE CAN ONLY APPRECIATE THE TERM 'BOTTOMLESS' WHEN ONE HAS HAD 'BOTTOMLESS'
No I'm not talking about me. (Because we all know my butt is amazing.)
I mean that when you finish your pot of tea, cake, scone: you name it!
YOU GET A REFILL. FREE.

But a fancy re-fill. Not like a McDonalds refill. A Michelin Star Restaurant refill.

The bathroom is the weirdest part. (see confusion on Sache's Face)

It's like in Godzilla when the human sized eggs were hatching.
Except instead of human-sized-reptiles; It's relieved-humans.

Me being really silly:

Dina laughing at me.

An ever so fashionable exit!

(That means play in french)

Overall: a great day! Considering we are students: heads up, it's expensive!
But going to the tea lounge (the one we sat in) is less expensive, and you can visit the iconic pink tea room as often as you'd like!

..and after our expensive fancy lunch: we went back home, got changed into sweatpants, and watched Game of Thrones!
Just like the bottom dwelling geeks we really are!!

Harajuku Girls

Harajuku is a district in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
Harajuku, for those of you who don’t know, is the Fashion Capital of Tokyo.
But after my experience, I have learned that that statement is just a broad generalisation.
I think -Tokyo- is The Fashion Capital of Japan, because everywhere you look you see style.
Harajuku is just a part of it!
But what a part it plays: It's the largest puzzle of vivacious streets teeming with young boys and girls wearing or buying all kinds of fashion.

It’s a ‘Business of Fashion' case study in itself; low market hand-made-and-sold clothes in a pop up store, while around the corner live the monstrous Tokyo Flagship complexes of Luxury Brands: Gucci, Coach, and Louis Vuitton.

The strip where Harajuku is it's liveliest is actually called Takeshita Street.
I spent my time there flitting between stores and asking to take Harajuku Girls’ photograph.

The crowds were a challenge.
It was like when H&M collaborates with any given designer and people are buzzing from rack to till.
Although I was almost trampled on: there was shared sense of excitement, sisterhood and most prominently: a shared love for fashion.

Harajuku wouldn't be Harajuku without the amazing and interesting people who walk it's streets:

Like when I locked eyes with a young sheepish Harajuku girl, who I caught examining my foreign outfit and face.
Or when I was caught, jaw-agape, with a left-to-right stare, on a girl wearing platform creepers taller than my head.

Be it on the racks on on the people; we were a stylish chorus, as well as a colourful mess.

So without further ado; here is my celebration of those Harajuku Girls…

I saw a lot of these cute alien buns and face paint freckles!

Micky mouse is/was/will always be huge in Japan. He is everywhere!!
Fashion wise? go Vintage Micky. I did.

So Kawaii it's not even funny.

This girl was so surprised as to why I wanted a photo of her outfit!
These flannel dresses were EVERYwhere!!
They are so comfy, relaxed, and clever enough to still be stylish!
